But having to say goodbye to her has also been a reminder to me that even if you’re 90+ years old, life is still too short, and that you should never wait to do something you want to do, never wait to call someone you love and never wait...

What my friend has learned so far (after 10 months...
Shortly after writing this post about what I’ve learned in the 10 weeks of being a Mom, one of my oldest friends wrote me the below email.  I love it, because it shows me what I have to look forward to, things I can do to be a better mother now, and what her days are like. Enjoy! When I saw your post on 10 weeks of new motherhood I could not help but sit down and write out some of my own...

Starbuck Barista Thoughts
147xxxx: So we have a few harmless homeless people that come in on a regular basis.  One of them doesn’t talk or ask for anything, but he waves across the lobby to us and once I caught him wiping down the condiment bar with a napkin. Another character doesn’t care for the condiment bar.  He’s a bit unkept.  His hair is a greasy, and I’m pretty sure he’s been wearing the same shirt since 1984....

An email from my most incredible friend
Dearest Laura, Because you can’t always have sex while you’re on hold, and because I’m pretty sure it’s not quite yet the season to be outside all the time in BTV, I’m giving you some solid online time-wasters. I’ve given you a list of shit to do online when you want to stay in bed and your laptop is handy, and you need a break from a. Job hunting or b. putting...

Turn Ons, Turn Offs
I have a secret love for the email forwards I occasionally get from friends.  Most people don’t ever fill them out or send them on, but I always do.  Here’s my latest. Turn Ons/Offs….. Shopping: Grocery shopping?  Turn on- I love when he comes grocery shopping with me.  And if it means he was secretly shopping for me, major turn on.  I love it wearing something he picked out-...

Is my uterus really a part of this interview?
I have an interview this afternoon that I feel really undecided about.  It’s for an organization that I LOVE, and always have, and would be so excited to work for- amazing mission, incredible ED, systemic impact on the community and issue area…except I’m caught in this middle ground, wondering if this is my chance to really try something new.  What?  I’m not sure yet, but...

Why do my bad things happen in 15s?
My whole life I have operated under a natural, but what I’ve recently come to realize as somewhat unique, insanely positive and optimistic view of life.  To me, if you can find the positive in anything then there’s a way to move forward, and it can often open up new opportunities that might have otherwise gone into hibernation if you stress, bitch, moan or my biggest pet peeve,...
